The Desk Receptionist is a non-sworn position assigned to the police department front desk.
The receptionist shall perform various clerical tasks and serve as the first line of contact between the public and the police department.
Reception personnel shall be capable of utilizing various office equipment and have an excellent understanding of computer operations and email programs.
Primary Duties Include:
? Receptionist to the general public at the front desk, screening complaints and initiating minor reports, answering and routing incoming telecommunications ? Operation of the police radio system to relay information to officers and dispatchers ? Handling and processing of monies related to fines, bonds, parking fees, etc.
? Imputing and extracting information from the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System (LEADS) upon request.
? Monitoring of prisoners and surveillance cameras ? Providing assistance to officers and other miscellaneous duties
Benefits:
? Starting pay $22.

? Be detail oriented with multi-tasking capabilities in a fast paced environment ? Have excellent customer service skills, including the ability to deal tactfully with the public ? Have a high level of integrity in dealing with confidential and sensitive information is essential ? Must be 18 years old and be a high school graduate or equivalent ? Possess a valid Illinois Driver's License ? Must pass a criminal background check ? Experience is preferred but not required ?
